www.DAN-O-SAUR.com
I will soon run my Portfolio website DAN-O-SAUR.com!
There will be a new and seperate BLOG website. As nearly no one knows about this site I will probably re post everything that is up here. Right know my friend Marcel Adig from Magic Touch Digital Films is coding the website I did in Photoshop very roughly. It will be a very simple website with no fancy animation orgy. So, stay tuned and make sure to drop by!
See you soon,

REALFLOW vs. CINEMA4D
I wanted to do the recent “5 Second Project” from www.grayscalegorilla.com when Realflow really fucked it up. I set up a Scene in Cinema with a big box and spheres that should fall into it. I wanted it to be full with water, or any other liquid. I had no Idea how to it in Cinema and asked Chris Schmidt for help. He told me about Realflow.
My scene in Cinema was ready and all animations and camera moves (Thanks for the tip about the “MoCam” of the CS TOOLS, Nick!) where set. I exportet the box and the spheres to Realflow 4. After I did research on Realflow basics and Tutorials I started setting up an emitter in the box and simulated water emerging in the box. I played around and soon had the right amount of water to fill it. Then I douple checked how to export it and how to make it ready for cinema. It was no problem, not at all. I headed back into cinema and tried to find the “SCENES” folder. BAM! Nothing. No Scenes folder on the harddisk. I googled the problem but couldn´t find anything about it. I am still trying to find a way to fix this Problem. The only thing that came to my mind and is possibly the reason for it is that I used Realflow 4 on a Windows 7 System. If anyone knows anything about this DROP ME A MESSAGE!!!! Thanks!
SEE YOU SOON,
Dan

GOTHAM QUICKY

After playing around in Photoshop and Cinema for a while I came to my senses and realized how often I choose Gotham as a font. I know for example that Nick Campbell made it quite popular in his great designs. This made me think about how to handle influences like that. It is a good exercise to rebuild a design and learn some techniques, but only, if we learn to apply what we learned to our own crazy ideas. In how far are we creative then? Are we simply copying things we saw, unconsciously?
How often do you use the font ? Do you like it too, or simply hate it ?
Gimme some thoughts and opinions on that!

DISCUSSION

Hey Guy, what about talkin about how creative we think we are? There are discussions where they talked about doing stuff on a PRO or AMATEUR level. I think this could be the question everyone has to ask himself, before wasting time on a dream that cannot become true. You know what I am aiming at ? Lets TALK!
